-Ishaan Deshmukh (Batch of 2020-21) E ver since the Covid-19 Pandemic struck the globe, we all have been forced to stay inside our homes. Astronomy

By Toral Parasiya [Xth Abhinav Vidyalay] Pc- Brian Koberlein What is Astronomy? It is a study of the matter outside our Earth’s surface and atmosphere such as planets, stars, comets, galaxies, black holes, etc. It is one of the oldest branches of sciences. It tries to find the answer to our existence in this universe. It is based on proven theories and not on any beliefs or assumptions. Importance of Astronomy It is used to measure the time, navigate the oceans and mark the seasons. Inventions in astronomy have made possible mobile technology, internet, weather systems, etc possible. To answer the big questions like “How was the universe created?”, “Where do we come from?”, etc. To know about the celestial dangers which can destroy humanity on Earth. The Indian William Wordsworth

~ Prapti Chaudhari (Std. X Abhinav Vidyalay) “I am still on my zigzag way, pursuing the diagonal between reason and heart.” Well, I think you all have guessed it right, yes! It is indeed Ruskin Bond. He is a famous British Indian author and poet. Born on 19th May 1934, he spent his childhood in Kasauli till the age of six and then in Dehradun after his father, Aubrey Alexander Bond joined the Air Force . His world revolved around his father but the unfortunate death left  Bond in grief. But the time he spent with his father is beautifully described in his novel, Looking for The Rainbow: My Years with Daddy . “ No one rules the world forever, the gods grow jealous. If someone is constantly successful or too powerful - be it Alexander or Napoleon or Hitler - the gods will eventually destroy him.” ~Ruskin Bond, Looking for The Rainbow: My Years with Daddy. Ruskin Bond is one of my favorite authors. I admire how he keeps his writing style simple yet so mesmerizing.  The books below

LET ME WEEP

-Karthik Thiyagarajan, IXth Abhinav Vidyalay Lately, I’ve been listening to Soprano pieces of music. The soprano is the highest vocal range in classical music. The vocal range of a soprano is about 261-1046 Hz. It is derived from the Italian word ‘Sopra’ which means ‘above’.  Of all the Soprano music my most favorite one is Lascia ch’io pianga. Lascia ch’io pianga is an Italian soprano aria composed by George Frideric Handel .  Now, what is an aria? Aria is a solo in opera which can be performed with or without orchestral accompaniment. Lascia ch’io pianga is one of the most famous arias composed by George Friedric Handel. It made its appearance in 1705 in act 3 of Handel's opera Almira . Later in 1711 Handel used the music but changed the lyrics of the aria for his London opera Rinaldo which is now known as ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’. OUTLINE : Goffredo , the leader of the Christian cam
